Our Constitution
Objectives in terms of our Constitution
- To provide opportunities for people to come together to communicate to share ideas, skills, and resources and to do so regardless of race, profession, religion, culture, gender, age and political persuasion
- To promote reconciliation understanding, and development of common identity among all the people in the greater Port Shepstone area.
- To promote cooperation, friendship and solidarity among the people of greater Port Shepstone and Twinning town/s.
- To facilitate and support the development of individuals, communities and organisations by such means as promoting research, sharing of skills and expertise, and assessing relevant resources
- To encourage networking among all role players in the interest of community Organisation and institutions.
- To facilitate and promote links between local government structures and organisations in Port Shepstone and their counterpart in the Twinning town/s.
- To facilitate exchange visits between individual/ Organisations for such purposes as study, skill transfer, project monitoring and cross cultural experience
Operational Framework
Port Shepstone Twinning Association operates in terms of:
- Constitution: The constitution governs the operation of our organisation.
- Operate in terms of the Npo Act and all laws that govern this sector
- Financial accountability and audited statements
- Policies Specific policies are upheld e.g. procurement, equity
- Partnerships: Partnership refers to mutual commitments and reciprocal relationships to advance and implement the vision of Port Shepstone Twinning Association. Each partner contributes to the partnership whether it is time, money, expertise or resources. Formal partnerships shall have a written agreement signed by both parties. Port Shepstone Twinning Association can engage with organisations who have similar objectives and aims.
- MOU Agreement: A negotiated arrangement between parties which outlines a course of action and that action’s implementation.
- Public Accountability in terms of reporting, media coverage, publications and newsletters
