At the heart of the Port Shepstone Twinning Association is a commitment to training, development, and empowerment, equipping individuals with the skills and confidence to thrive.

For over 30 years, our international exchange programmes have been central to this mission, fostering what we call people-to-people empowerment. From receiving Time Travel training in Sweden to professional development in our own fields, these exchanges have provided practical, life-changing experiences. Our delegates have participated in conferences across Europe, Africa, and Türkiye, presented internationally, and engaged with municipalities abroad. For learners and educators, travel and exchange have been transformative, broadening horizons, boosting self-esteem, and building leadership capacity.

As a registered NGO, we also deliver structured training interventions at local, national, and international levels. Each programme is tailored to identified needs and focuses on practical application in areas such as leadership, project planning, administration, and training on the Time Travel programme. Training that has been offered and supported at the international level, national training together with Bridging Ages International to museums in the country, local schools, learners and community members in their specific tasks  

Beyond skills, our training nurtures values of social cohesion, democracy, and ethical leadership, Training at Port Shepstone Twinning Association is never a once-off event, it is an ongoing journey of lifelong learning. Through our experiential approach, particularly in the Time Travel programme, we continue to upskill community members, youth, and educators, helping shape individuals who make a lasting impact in their communities and beyond.
